Walter was born on 10 March 1921 in British Columbia. His father a farmer, was born in Hale, Surrey, England and his mother in London. He attended Enderby Public School 1928-1936 followed by Enderby High School, 1936-1940. |
He enlisted whilst still a student, on 15 February 1941 and was stationed with 19 OTU on 24 March 1942 and 106 Squadron 17 June 1942. |
Walter enjoyed playing Basketball, Hockey, Baseball, riding, track and field events and hiking. His hobby was hunting. |
